The MGM National Harbor casino opened its doors to the public in early December. With the opening of this new casino just outside of Washington D.C., there were 39 more poker tables added to the Maryland poker market.
The state figures reveal that the MGM National Harbor Casino has made $1.4 million in revenue in just three weeks of operation. The manager of the poker room at this casino, Johnny Grooms, said that he is very happy with the response that poker fans have given to this casino’s new poker room. The poker fans get a feel of the ARIA when they are playing in this casino’s poker room. There is also a little bit of Bellagio also in the room.
Grooms feels that the poker fans are short of rooms in the state and he has witnessed wait lists of 150 players to take part in the $1 to $3 no-limit hold’em cash game. One reason for this waiting list is because of the quality of the poker room that is set up in the MGM National Harbor Casino. He says that the poker room is running to capacity for most of the day and is regularly seen 100 to 150 waiting lists to play the games. The plan was to serve a lot of poker guests and this is why the casino came up with a 39 table poker room so that maximum people can be accommodated.
